Bernard passed away on December 3rd, the first Sunday of Advent. He was 98. Born to the late Julia and Joseph Demeter. He married the love of his life Mary.
Bernard spent his life "Living"! He would often say "Age is only a number and If you think old you will be old". He prayed daily for God's Grace and Blessings.
His trade was an Automotive Mechanic and his skills for repairing anything was unlimited. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, horseback riding, and especially riding his motorcycle. At the age of 80 plus years he and his wife Mary could be seen riding his Gold Wing Motorcycle through the Mountains of Farmington, Pennsylvania.
Bernard was caring and loving to his wife, family and friends. He loved America. The United States of America Flag was flown with pride everyday of his life in front of his Pennsylvania, home.
Bernard was predeceased by his parents Julia and Joseph Demeter, his wife Mary, his daughter Bernadette, his brothers Joseph and Jim and his sisters Ellie, Kay and Julie. He is survived by his daughter Stephanie and son-in-law Chris Eberhardt, Grandson Michael Eberhardt, Grandson Christopher Eberhardt and his wife Sheba (Masih) and Great-Grandson Aidan. His Sister Rosemarie (Gbrouski) Demeter and Brother Dave Demeter.
A memorial mass for Bernard will take place on Friday December 15, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Church of the Holy Cross, 631 S State Street Dover, DE 19901. Burial will be on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, 97 Sacred Heart Road Monongahela, PA 15063. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Bless Our Children, Bless our Childen, c/o Draper Media 1729 N. Salisbury Blvd Salisbury, MD 21801.
