With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Bernard Lee "Bernie" King, who
passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025.

Born on November 22, 1934, in Lamar, Colorado, Bernie lived a life filled with laughter,
friendship, and a touch of mischief. His warm smile and quick wit could light up any room, and his kindness left an enduring mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A proud patriot, Bernie served his country in the U.S. Army before beginning a long and respected career in highway engineering with the federal government. He was admired for his integrity, strong work ethic, and steady leadership.

Outside of work, Bernie found joy in simple pleasures - a round of golf, cheering on the Denver Broncos, traveling with loved ones, and hosting lively barbecues for family and friends. He lived life with humor and heart, teaching those around him to embrace each day and love deeply. His legacy is one of laughter, generosity, and wisdom.

Bernie shared 30 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marlene. Together they built a beautiful life filled with adventure, family, and love.

Bernie is lovingly survived by his daughter, Tracy Silva, her husband Joe, and his granddaughter, Katie Thunem. He also held a special place in his heart for Marlene's family - Rod Kjerstad; Jana Gates and her children, Angelique, Michael, and Michael's son, Beckham; and Jacie Gates, his wife, Crystal, and their son, Connor. Bernie was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene, and his son, Greg.

A celebration of Bernie's life will be held on November 14, 2025, at Mountain View Funeral & Cemetery. Friends and loved ones are invited to share stories, laughter, and love as we remember a man who made the world brighter just by being in it.

In place of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the GBS-CIDP International Foundation, continuing Bernie's legacy of generosity and hope.

"It's been a good ride, and my only regret is that I can't do it all over again."
- Bernie King
