Bernard N. Klinkhammer, age 79 of Ashwaubenon, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. Bernie was born on December 13, 1945 to the late Bernard and Helen (Delray) Klinkhammer in Racine, at the same hospital as his future wife. He graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha with the class of 1965. Bernie enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1966 and was honorably discharged in December 1968. During enlistment, Bernie married Joanne Parr on June 25, 1966 at Ft. Gordon in Georgia. He was then stationed in Germany for two and a half years during the Vietnam War. Upon retiring home, Bernie and Joanne moved to Sturtevant with their first daughter. Bernie started working at Kenosha Beef in 1969 and hauled beef for 15 years. The family then moved to Mountain in 1984 and ran Timbers Restaurant for 6 years. While living in Mountain, Bernie drove for Mountain Ambulance while Joanne was an EMT. After leaving the restaurant, the family moved to Suring and welcomed their youngest daughter. Bernie went back to school, receiving an associate's degree in police science from NWTC in the early 1990's. He started working at Packerland Packaging as a security guard, retiring after 11 years. Bernie and Joanne then moved to Cecil and worked together for a corporation out of Michigan for 5 years, doing merchandising and mystery shopping. The couple then officially retired and moved to Green Bay. They enjoyed many summers at their permanent campsite in Reedsville, until they were no longer able. Bernie and Joanne were very active in their younger years, playing darts, horseshoes, square dancing, and bowling. Bernie also enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing.

Bernie is survived by his wife, Joanne; 4 daughters, Joannel Holl, Jamie (Troy) Jacquet, Johna (Ryan) Brock, and Jacklyn (Craig) Schnitzler; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sharon Melik and Al Klinkhammer. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Klinkhammer; great-grandsons, Brayden and Cayden.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Maple Valley Community Church from 11 am until the funeral service at 1 pm with Pastor Kevin Kuhn officiating. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.gruetzmacherfuneralhome.com.
