Bernard R. Levandowski, of Stevens Point, passed away at home surrounded by his family on September 6, 2025, at the age of 92.
Bernard was born May 10, 1933, in Knowlton, WI; son of the late Frank and Emily (Novak) Levandowski. He married Bernice Serafin and the two welcomed two sons to their family; Ken and Dennis.
Bernard was a caring man who enjoyed spending time outdoors whether it was gardening, feeding the birds and rabbits, or splitting wood and he enjoyed playing his concertina. While he had a wonderful sense of humor, he was also someone who wasn't afraid to "tell it like it is".
Bernard was active in his community. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1170, a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 18, and a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church. Bernard was also a retired Fire Chief of the Dewey Fire Department.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Bernice; his sons, Ken (Annette) and Dennis (Janet); 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Bernice Kawlewski; and sisters-in-law, Adeline, Nancy, and Joy Serafin and Eileen Derr.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emily; 3 brothers, Rich, Leo, and Norbert; and 2 sisters, Marian and Adeline.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Wausau Aspirus Hospice nurses for their exceptional care provided to Bernard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at St. Casimir's Parish Cemetery.
Shuda Funeral Chapel is honored to be assisting the family.
