It is with both heavy hearts and fond memories that we celebrate the life and legacy of Bernard Robinson, a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, who passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. Bernard Delon Robinson was born on August 9,1965 in Wilmington, DE to Linda Carolyn Tinnin. He peacefully transitioned at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC June 24, 2025.
Bernard attended Graham High School, where he first cultivated his passion for football-a love that followed him throughout his life, whether cheering for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, or coaching local youth and inspiring the next generation of athletes. His commitment to mentoring kids on and off the field made a lasting impact, shaping young lives with his guidance, patience, and encouragement.
Growing up, Bernard was rarely seen without a dirt bike or motorcycle under him-tearing through the neighborhood like he was auditioning for a stunt show. When he wasn't raising dust outside, you could find him upstairs in the "White House" in Green Level, jamming on the keyboard with his band like they were about to go on tour. His love for Morris Day and Time ran deep-he had the moves, the sound, and maybe even tried to rock the look (at least once or twice).
He went on to build a career at American Express, Habitat for Humanity; he also drove the elderly to hospital appointments and worked at the Caring Kitchen where his strong work ethic and warm spirit earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. No matter where life took him, Bernard never lost sight of what mattered most: family, loyalty, and community.
He is lovingly remembered by his Mother Linda Carolyn Tinnin of Burlington, NC. One sister with unwavering love and encouragement sister Crystal Chandler Bowie, MD. one niece Zoey Chandler who he loved dearly. A beloved girlfriend Kimberly Dixion of Greensboro, NC who was his constant companion and partner in life. Two devoted aunts who embraced, nurtured and guided him like mothers Marilyn Williams (Harold) of Burlington, NC and Sandra Vaughn of Green Level, NC. Two first cousins April Vaughn Warren (Garry) of Green Level, NC and Ashley Vaughn Boyd (Jarone) of Burlington, NC. Extended family, and dear friends who cherished his kindness, sense of humor, and generous heart.
His love for his family was unmatched, and his presence in the community was a source of strength and unity. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
We will miss his booming laugh, his Dallas Cowboy and UNC Tarheel Pride, and his deep love for those around him. But more than anything, we will carry forward his legacy of kindness, service, and family first.
Rest easy, Bernard. Your life was a gift, and your memory will forever be a blessing.
