STERLING/WEST BOYLSTON - Bernard P. Rotti, 87, passed away on December 23, 2021, at his home in Ware. Bernie was born in Clinton, son of Italian immigrants, Peter and Louisa (Malabaila) Rotti, the youngest of 9 children. He was raised on his family farm in West Boylston and in turn, raised his own family in West Boylston before moving to Sterling in 1996.
Bernie was a heavy equipment operator for his entire career and a member of the Local 4 Operating Engineers Union. He was also a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holden and a former active member of the Christ Lutheran Church in West Boylston. He enjoyed traveling with Shirley through the country in his much-loved motorhome and was a member of the Family Motor Coach Association.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 64 years, Shirley (Fournier) Rotti; three sons, Anthony B. Rotti and wife, Margit of Ilvesheim, Germany, Timothy J. Rotti and wife, Janice of Templeton, and Todd P. Rotti and wife Brenda of Sterling; six grandchildren, Nicholas and partner Sarah and Daniel Rotti, Ashley O'Connor and husband Jeff and Lucas Rotti and wife Meg, and Leah and Hannah Rotti; and five great-grandchildren, Mayleen, Mika, Jacob, Landen, and Rye. Bernie is predeceased by his parents, his siblings, and two of his grandsons, Paul Rotti and Timothy J. Rotti. Bernie's family would like to extend their gratitude to Beacon Hospice for their dedication to Bernie.
A private family service will be held at Miles Funeral Home in Holden. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage donations to Boston Children's Hospital Trust, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.

Shirley and family, I didn't know Bernie for very long but I could tell he was a great guy. He loved talking about his family. I'll miss our little talks when we took our road trips to Worcester. Rest in peace Bernie.
