Bernard Tronkowski Obituary
It is with great sorrow that the family of Bernard Tronkowski announces his peaceful departure from this world on January 20, 2024 at the age of 89. A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend, he is survived by his high school sweetheart of 73 years, Betty Jean; son Kevin and daughter-in-law Karen; daughter-in-law Darlene; grandchildren Carrie and her husband Jason, Ethan, and Emma; great-grandchildren Abigail, Patrick, and Kellen; as well as many other extended family members and loved ones. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Bernard E. Tronkowski; his parents, Walter and Celia (Knopke); siblings Leo, Katherine, Edward, Leonard, Joseph, and Delores. Bernie was a good athlete who excelled on the basketball court in high school. After graduating from Luzerne High School, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, he served in the Marines and then graduated from Penn State with a degree in electrical technology. Bernie worked for General Electric for 35 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed all aspects of nature, including hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was very generous with his time and volunteered for numerous youth activities, including coaching baseball and soccer and refereeing basketball.
The family will receive friends between 10:00 and 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, Endwell, New York. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 AM. Express condolences online at www.SavageFS.com. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Bernie's memory by making a donation to the Animal Care Council, 131 Washington Avenue, Endicott, New York, or to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 711 Farm to Market Road, Endwell, New York. Bernie will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have shared in his love and laughter. May he rest in eternal peace.
