In Loving Memory of Bernarda Flores Funes August 20, 1934 – June 9, 2025

It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bernarda Flores Funes, affectionately known to many as "Mama Narda". She was born on August 20, 1934, in Santa Rosa de Lima, El Salvador, and left this world surrounded by love and family.

On March 11, 1966, Bernarda married Gerardo Funes. Together, they raised nine children and touched countless more lives through their generosity.

Mama Narda was the very heart of her family - not only a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, but also a nurturing figure to all who crossed her path. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love, where family, friends, and even strangers were welcomed like her own.

In 1999, she moved to the United States with her beloved granddaughter Stephanie, settling into a home alongside her daughter Patricia, granddaughter Stephanie, and grandson Michael. From then on, Mama Narda continued to share her boundless affection and gentle spirit with all around her - a source of comfort, wisdom, and strength to generations.

Her passion for life extended to her deep love for animals and flowers, which she tended with the same care and devotion she gave to her family. Whether in a blooming garden or a quiet moment with a pet, Mama Narda found joy and beauty in the simple things.

She is survived by her loving children: Antonio, Warner, Gerardo, Arnoldo, Roger, Patricia, and Carolina, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and an extended family of those who were privileged to know her.

Mama Narda's legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion. Her memory will continue to blossom in the hearts of all who knew her, a reminder of the quiet power of a life lived with grace and purpose.

She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Burial in Jardines del Recuerdo, San Salvador, El Salvador.
