Bernardo Martínez, amado esposo, padre, abuelo, hermano y amigo, falleció pacíficamente el 12 de abril de 2025 en Dallas, Texas, a la edad de 65 años.
Nacido el 20 de mayo de 1959, hijo de Simitrio Martínez e Isabel Sustayta, Bernardo fue un hombre de familia trabajador y dedicado. Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Rosa María Garay Cortés, y sus hijos: Bernardo Octavio Martínez, Bernardo Martínez Jr. y Alexis Martínez; y sus hijas, Brenda Gómez e Ingrid Soto. También deja seis queridos nietos que le brindaron una inmensa alegría.
Bernardo es recordado con cariño por sus hermanos Delfino, Ramiro, Tranquilino, Almec y Lázaro Martínez, y sus hermanas Juana María Martínez, Yolanda Martínez, María Elena Martínez e Isabel Martínez.
Trabajó incansablemente toda su vida, a menudo con varios trabajos para mantener a su familia. Bernardo tenía una pasión por mantenerse activo; le encantaba especialmente dar largos paseos. Su sentido del humor, su amor por la música y el baile, y su cálida presencia lo convertían en el alma de cada reunión familiar.

Bernardo Martinez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 65.
Born on May 20, 1959, to Simitrio Martinez and Isabel Sustayta, Bernardo was a hardworking and devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosa Maria Garay Cortes, and his children: sons Bernardo Octavio Martinez, Bernardo Martinez Jr., and Alexis Martinez; and daughters Brenda Gomez and Ingrid Soto. He also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
Bernardo is remembered fondly by his brothers Delfino, Ramiro, Tranquilino, Almec and Lazaro Martinez, and his sisters Juana Maria Martinez, Yolanda Martinez, Maria Elena Martinez, and Isabel Martinez.
He worked tirelessly throughout his life, often holding multiple jobs to provide for his family. Bernardo had a passion for staying active-he especially loved taking long walks. His sense of humor, love for music and dance, and his warm presence made him the heart of every family gathering.
A true Texas sports fan, he enjoyed cheering on the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. Bernardo's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
