Bernice A. (France) Barrow, 98, of Franklin Lakes, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Born in Trinidad, West Indies, she immigrated to the United States in 1964, settling in Baltimore, Maryland, where she resided for many years before moving to Franklin Lakes six years ago.

A graduate of Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing, Bernice was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse, phlebotomist, and dietitian at Maryland General Hospital and Stella Morris, Inc., in Baltimore. She was a former parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Baltimore and a member of the Rosary Society, served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was active in the Parents Club.

Bernice was also a talented dressmaker, known for her skill and craftsmanship, and had a devoted following. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and internationally.

Bernice is survived by her loving daughter, Sharon Jaekel, and her husband, Robert, of Franklin Lakes, and by her grandson, Matthew Jaekel. She was predeceased by her sister, Elaine, and her brothers, David and Ernest.

A committal service will be held at New Cathedral Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland, at a future date.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Bernice's name to Shriners Children's Hospital, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
