Bernice Pinson Davis

Mrs. Bernice Davis, 97 of Madison died on August 3, 2025. Mrs. Davis was born April 21, 1928 in Thomaston Georgia to Ida Sizemore Pinson and Jeff Arthur Pinson. She was a graduate of the Thomaston Public Schools. She later married William H. (Bill) Davis in 1948. Mrs. Davis was a resident at The Madison Assisted Living at the time of her death and enjoyed the activities, residents and staff at the facility.

She was retired from Morgan County Middle School. After retirement she was a dedicated volunteer at The Clothes Closet and The Caring Place and worked diligently until she went into assisted living. She was an avid card player and enjoyed her weekly bridge and canasta games; as well as the friends she made playing cards. She was a long time member at Madison Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School class members and teachers.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her children, Debbie Tamplin (Wayne) and Doug Davis (Mary Helen). She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Davis. Mrs. Davis has six grandchildren, Sally Nunn (Lee), Anna Newell (Michael), Katie Floyd (John), Lee Sanders, Julie Wade and Ashley Davis. Her great grandchildren are Claire and Mason Nunn, Hayes, Owen and Mary Miles Newell, John Addison, Mitchell, Amelia and Parker Floyd.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 7 at 1 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. at A. E. Carter Funeral Home.
