Bernice A. Denzler, age 94, passed away on February 27, 2025, at New Perspective Senior Living in Barnum, Minnesota. She was born on February 5, 1931, to John and Antionette (Jacob) Matlock in Cloquet, Minnesota. Bernice was raised and attended school in Cloquet. Bernice was united in marriage to Robert Denzler and the two resided in Cloquet until 1985, when they built a home in Esko. Following Robert's death in 2000, Bernice returned to Cloquet.
Bernice began working in the Cloquet School District as a cook when her children became school-age, and she went on to hold positions in the office and administration prior to her retirement many years later. During retirement she occupied her time by working with Upper Lakes Foods. Bernice became a familiar face at the local farmers markets where she sold the products of her long hours in the garden. She also enjoyed her flower gardens, raising chickens, ducks, and turkeys, knitting and crocheting, and playing Bingo at Black Bear with friends. Bernice always loved time with her family, from going fishing together as her children grew up, to Sunday meals with her children and grandchildren. As the last of her family, she cherished the company of her brother, Bernerd, and the two had many great visits together.
Bernice is remembered by her children, Douglas (Jolene), Roberta, and Rose Ann; daughter-in-law, Doreen; grandchildren, Patrick and Karl Anderson, Nathan (Rhianna) Skiff, and Aaron, Gavin, Tyler, and Max Denzler; numerous great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Delores and Karen Matlock. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Robert and Rebecca; son-in-law, John Oschmann; and all of her siblings.
No public ceremonies will be held.
