Bernice Limb Obituary

Bernice Limb

1928 ~ 2025

West Jordan, UT - Bernice Ileen Jameson Limb returned to her parents, Merrill Morse Jameson and Ileen Gressman Jameson on April 4, 2025.

She was born in Minersville, Utah on July 24, 1928. Bernice was the youngest of four children and the only girl. Her brothers were Harold Morse, Merrill Lewis and George Vic Jameson. She was raised in Minersville, Utah.

Bernice attended college in Cedar City. She had a love for learning and reading. Bernice met her soon to be husband, Rex J Limb, at a dance. They married July 1, 1948 in the St. George Temple. They lived in Beaver. Later, after completing their degrees and education to teach, they lived in Wendover, Washington and West Jordan. Bernice was a school teacher for many years and loved to teach the younger grades in elementary school. She loved to teach them math and reading.

Bernice had a love of many hobbies. She had a beautiful Alto voice and loved to sing hymns and primary songs. She loved anything sewing and looking through cookbooks. She loved to read and to be read to by children and to hear their excitement with the stories. She loved to hunt for rocks and was a self proclaimed "rock hound". She loved to work on the computer and indexing for the Church. Bernice loved to go camping and hunting with her family. She especially loved to be surrounded by her grandkids and great grandkids and looked forward to the many get togethers. Bernice loved to travel and always had a bag packed and ready to go for when the opportunity arose. Bernice was a happy, positive soul who had a zest for life and all of it's possibilities. She had a beautiful smile.

Bernice is survived by three of her children: Garth (Sandy), Russ (Gloria), Vicki (Kevin) Smith, 28 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

Those waiting for Bernice to come home were her parents and brothers, her husband Rex and her two sons Roger Bruce and Val Gene. Also, she had 5 grandchildren who had passed Ricke Smith, Brittany, Roger Bruce Jr., Phillip and Darrell Limb.

Our family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many caregivers and staff at Sunridge Assisted Living. Your loving care for our mother and grandma means so much to us. You were a blessing to her and her family and we can't thank you enough for the compassion and love you showed her.

We also wish to thank her hospice "dream" team. Rob, Amber, Karlie, Ruth, Lindsey and Jody, your visits and calls over the last few years has been a light for her and made her so happy. We are forever grateful for your care, compassion and friendship to Bernice and our family. You were a part of her family and she loved you dearly.

Thank you to the many friends and family that made her feel loved and supported while at the assisted living. Your visits were very important to her.

I am a friend of Carlene Banks and Bernice. We three are swimming buddies. Oh how we visited. I loved the stories of Bernice and Carlene. Please accept my condolences in the passing of your beautiful mother and grandmother!

Decades ago Mrs. Limb taught at the elementary school I attended. I looked forward to music hour in Mrs Limb´s classroom.
She had the whole class participating and singing along.
I still remember the all of the words to "down by the banks of the hanky panky".

Bernice has always been so humble, gracious and kind to me. My youngest daughter Lydia was invited to go read to Bernice since she couldn't see. I am grateful for Bernice's loving treatment of my daughter and acceptance of the service she gave. I have always enjoyed visiting with Bernice at church and neighborhood activities. It was especially delightful the way that she would inquisitively try to recognize me from my voice alone. What a great family legacy Bernice has left and will be greatly missed. Until we meet again!
