Bernice Lofton was born September 21, 1941 to the late Eddie and Jettie Mae Robinson· Davis in Pompano Beach, FL. She was a longtime resident of Trenton, NJ for the past 80 years. She was
educated in the Trenton Public School System and graduated from Trenton Central High School. A Mercer County Nursing School with an LPN license.
Bernice was employed at Helene Fuld Hospital and later Trenton Psychiatric Hospital where she retired after 30 years of service. Shestarted a part-time job working Bayada Nursing Agency.
She was a faithful member of Grace Community Church under the leadership of Rev. Ethan S. Evans. She was a part of the senior choir and an assistant treasurer on the season saint's ministry.
Bernice loved to do gardening, hosting family gatherings, knitting, watching mystery movies, baking, and trying new dishes to cook. On January 25, 2025, Bernice departed this life for eternal rest. Her life has been full and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was predeceased her maternal and paternal grandparents; several uncles and aunts; a one brother-in-law, Craven Richardson; and her best friend, Evelyn
Dunn.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Jermaine Robinson; one sister, Willie Mae Richardson; four grandchildren, Brittany, Kashmere, Jermaine Jr., and Cherish; one great grandson, Braylin; two bonus daughters, Latisha Simms and Sabrina Jones; two special friends in Christ, Beckey Henley and Johnny Brown; her client, Edward and his mother, Mary; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will 11am Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
