Bernice Vermell McPherson

Vermell McPherson West Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Vermell McPherson, 87 of West Monroe, LA formerly of Epps, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 14, 2014 in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi with Rev. Wesley Pittman officiating. Visitation will be held from noon Monday until time of services. Burial will be in the Epps Community Cemetery. Vermell was the last surviving child of Andrew Levi Pittman and Lorena Ruth Holmes Pittman. She was a longtime resident of the Epps community and was a charter member of Little Creek Baptist Church near Epps, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Earl McPherson; two grandsons Shaye McPherson and Brian Halford; and nine brothers and sisters, Luther Pittman, Ruth Smith McPherson, Mary Sandidge, Myra Oliphant, Albry Pittman, Orell Pittman, Myrtle Pittman, Mable Pittman and an infant sibling. Left behind to cherish her memories are five children, James David McPherson & wife Joan of Monroe, LA, Carolyn Arlene Halford of West Monroe, LA, Michael Albry McPherson & wife Shelia of West Point, MS, Cheryl Gryder & husband Ronnie of Benton, LA and Jeffrey Scott McPherson & wife Kandy of McEwen, TN; thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Drew Lowrimore, Zach McPherson, Josh McPherson, Paul Sturdivant, Joey Curry and Garan Lively. Cox Funeral Home Delhi
