Bernice Tudor Millsaps, a devoted homemaker and loving family member, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House. Born on March 17, 1950, in Charleston, South Carolina, she spent her life dedicated to her family and the joys that brought her happiness.
Bernice was married to Charles Millsaps for 54 years. She is survived by her three daughters: Sabrina Rieder, who is married to Guenther; Melissa Drye, who is engaged to Lee; and Paula Trimnal and grandmother to Isabella, Jonas, Courtney, and Shawn.
A creative spirit, Bernice was known for her love of crafts, including stenciling, ceramics, and cross-stitch. Her passion for baking and traveling complemented her enthusiasm for enjoyable pastimes, which included watching her favorite soap operas as well as a fondness for Disney characters, particularly Minnie and Mickey Mouse. Bernice cherished her dogs and the unconditional love they provided.
She is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren, as well as her brother, Benny Tudor, and sister, Annette Rawlinson. Bernice was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, who will hold her memory dear.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nettie Mae O'Neal Tudor, and father, Joseph Eugene Tudor. Additionally, she was greeted in the afterlife by her grandchildren Zachary and Christian, along with her brothers Lonnie Tudor and Vance "Bubba" Tudor, and sisters Barbara Ferrell, Aerila "Willie" Williams, and Deloris "Dee" Parsons.
Bernice will be greatly missed by many. A visitation and memorial service will be held on March 22, 2025, at Nicholson Funeral Home in Statesville, North Carolina. The visitation will start at 12:00 PM and continue until 12:30 PM, followed by a memorial service that will conclude at 1:30 PM.
