Funeral Services for Bernice Milton will be Tuesday December 30th, 2025 at 1pm at Weeping Mary Baptist Church in Alto. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Chapel Cemetery.

Viewing hours will be held at the funeral home from 10am-4:30pm on Monday December 29th.

Ms. Bernice Pope Milton was born in Alto, Texas, on June 1, 1961, to the late Addie Helen Pope and Robert E. Lee Thacker. On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in Alto, Texas, her earthly journey came to a close. She attended Alto High School and graduated with the Class of 1980. She was employed at the Basket Factory in Jacksonville, Texas, and later worked at the Alto Nursing Home until her health no longer allowed her to continue. She joined Weeping Mary Baptist Church at an early age. Bernice was a very caring person and will always be remembered as "Sweet Sixteen."
Preceding her in death were three brothers: Clinton "Nick" Pope, Donnie Hackney, and Rayford Hamilton; one sister, Patsy Whitaker; and one son, David LaTrell Milton.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory to two sons: Emmanuel Dayshon Milton of Alto, Texas and Kentavious Milton of Lufkin, Texas; sisters: Clemmie (Alvin) Ramsey of Valley, Alabama, Kay Lofton of Alto, Texas, and Bennie (Roy) Mitchell of Jacksonville, Texas; brothers: Lane (Darlene) Pope of Kennard, Texas; Rodney (Lisa) Thacker and Keith Thacker, all of Alto, Texas; and Steve (Terita) Lofton of Dallas, Texas. She is also lovingly remembered by two grandchildren, Kierra Milton and Jordyn Milton, God daughter Ti'tteuna, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
