Bernice Sundy, born February 24,1928, a native of Phoenix City, Alabama, and resided for most of her life raising her family in Panama City, Fl., died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 97 on January 9, 2026 in Bush, La.
She was strong, intelligent, beautiful, kind, patient and joyful!! Above all this, she was a child of God and taught her family of his love so that we could also have a relationship with him!! Her love for her family knew no limits! Though we will miss her precious voice saying, “Oh how my eyes adore you” and miss her gentle hands that she used to help so many, we are comforted knowing that the next thing she will know is that she is with our Lord and Savior, made new without pain or sorrow, walking in his kingdom and reunited with those that have gone before her!!
She is proceeded in death by her parents John Hickman and Hazel Sayers Hickman, her husband Simon Sundy, daughter Denise Sundy, son Earl Herring and sisters Dorothy, Drucilla and Mary.
She is survived by her sons Stephen Sundy (Helen), Gary Sundy, daughters Geneva Cornwell (Maxie), Ginger Dean and sisters Nancy and Odell. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews that will miss her deeply!
A memorial will be held at a later date.
