Bernice Vigil passed away peacefully on July 17th at the age of 89.
Bernice was born to Mary and Paul Piatt on May 21, 1936 in Santa Fe, NM She attended schools in Santa Fe and graduated from Santa Fe high school 1954. She used her secretarial skills working for attorneys in both Santa Fe and Albuquerque, and then went on to be employed by Sandia labs. After retiring from Sandia she was employed by Albuquerque Public Schools. Bernice married Richard G. Vigil in January of 1955 and they had four children: Elizabeth, Rick, Mike and Randy. Her grandchildren include Erin, Brett, Nicole Howard, Monica Polombo, Josh Romero, Gavin and Serenity Vigil. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Rick, Mike and Randy brothers Paul Jr and Ray Paitt, Dorothy and Fred Snyder and Tim and Ted Romanik,
Survived by Elizabeth and Rob Guthrie, Sister, Pauline Romanik, sister -in- law Theresa Piatt, brother Bob Paitt (Priscilla) daughter-in-law Lisa Vigil, Grandchildren Erin, Nicole Howland, Monica and Michael Polombo, and Eliana, Josh and Tamara Romero, Asher and Michael, Gavin and Serenity, Laura Snyder, Brian Snyder, Deborah Noertker, Ted and David Romanik, and one great granddaughter Rilyn.
Among her many talents she was an excellent seamstress even making her sister's wedding dress her mother's dress for their anniversary party and was an excellent baker, baking beautiful cakes for all occasions.
Bernice will be very much missed.
