Bernie Bills, a resident of Vancouver, WA passed away at his home on July 20, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, son Michael Bills, daughter Jan Johbson, sisters Darlene Brady and Rosemary Dibble and many nieces and nephews.

Bernie was born in Salt Lake City Utah. He graduated from the University of Utah and served as an officer in the U.S. Army. Bernie's professional career focused on Information Systems and Technology. In 1989, following many successful years as a senior computer consultant, Bernie was named Executive Director of Management Services for the Port of Vancouver. Bernie was also a liaison with the U.S. Core of Engineers for the deepening of the Columbia River shipping channel. Following his retirement from the Port in 2001, Bernie continued pursuing his love of boating and spent the last 14 summers cruising with his wife Cheryl on their beloved boat in the San Juan and Gulf Islands and waters further North. Bernie was a real Captain, both in life and on the water.
