Bert M. Mutersbaugh Jr.

On October 8, 2023, Bert Mutersbaugh passed away in Richmond Ky. He was born on June 8, 1933 at Hannibal, Missouri, the son of Bert and Gertrude Thrall Mutersbaugh, and lived in Paris, Missouri. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was educated at the University of Missouri where he earned a PHD in History. He spent his academic career as a professor of history at Eastern Kentucky University.
After his retirement from EKU, we became world travelers. Bert loved antiquity, art and architecture. He loved to travel, but he never wanted to leave home.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Cherie Mutersbaugh, two sons, Tad and Grant Mutersbaugh, a daughter, Feleciea Mundy, five grandchildren, one great grandson and a brother, John Mutersbaugh.
Bert loved his family, his friends, his books, his dogs, his flowers, and jazz. He was loving, kind, generous, loyal and witty. We are truly bereaved.
