James Bilbro Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home - Shelbina on Feb. 4, 2026.
James Henry "Jim" Bilbro, 78, of Shelbina, Missouri, was born August 14, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, and went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2026.

Jim and his twin sister, Judy, spent their childhood in Kansas City before the family later moved to Clarence, Missouri-roots that shaped Jim's lifelong love for people and community.

Jim devoted his life to loving God and loving people. A faithful husband, father, grandfather, pastor, and shepherd, he served in ministry for more than four decades-beginning with campus ministry at the University of Missouri and continuing as lead pastor of Shelbina Christian Church for 24 years. He retired from ministry in 2019.

Jim faithfully prepared his family for Christ's return and leaves behind his beloved wife, Becky Bilbro; sons, Jason (Tatum), Chris (Jenny), and Jeff (Brady); and grandchildren Mirae, Mirielle, Haden, Asher, Rylan, Owen, and Emden. He was also deeply loved by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Gen Bilbro; his twin sister Judy Dehner and her husband Dave Dehner; and his in-laws Don and Joyce Hall.

Jim's life was marked by his favorite question: "Who might come back today?"-a joyful reminder of his hope in Christ. The answer, of course, was Jesus.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 13, 2026 from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at Shelbina Christian Church in Shelbina, Missouri. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 14, at 10:00 a.m., also at Shelbina Christian Church, followed by the burial with full military honors in the Maplewood Cemetery of Clarence, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shelbina Christian Church or Christian Campus House in Columbia, Missouri.
