It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Berta Oleta Steeley, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister, who was called to rest on March 5, 2024, at the age of 98. Berta was born on July 5, 1925, in Hulbert, OK, to the late Early Samuel Breece and Freeda (Watkins) Breece.
A wonderful cook, Berta's kitchen was always filled with delicious aromas, and her love for her family knew no bounds. She was truly a devoted mother and found immense joy in spoiling her grandchildren.
The funeral service for Berta Oleta Steeley will be held at the Hart Funeral Home on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Prior to the service, a public viewing will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Following the service, Berta will be laid to rest in Lost City Cemetery in Hulbert, OK.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Homer Steeley, sisters, Juanita Talcott, and Loretta Moore, and a granddaughter, Christinia Gibson.
Survivors include her children, Louise Gordon, Clyde (Jill) Steeley, Earlene (Jim) Morrell, Claude Dell Steeley, and Ricky (Patsy) Steeley, sisters , Leota Lawson, and Lola Saxon, 16 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and a host of loving family members.
Though she may be gone, the memory of Oleta's love and warmth will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her. May she rest in eternal peace.
