A native of Clarksville, TN he was born September 15, 1950 the son of the late James E. Steeley and Mabel Brown Steeley. He retired from Phelps Dodge and the Christian County Public School System. He was an avid hunter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Stephen Wayne Steeley.
Survivors include his wife: Joyce Steeley of Hopkinsville, KY; and his son: Huel (Shannon) Henderson of Hopkinsville, KY; and daughter: Olla Renee Mattingly of Hopkinsville, KY; his brothers: James D. Steeley and Richard L. Steeley of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
