Berta Clark Quick, age 74 of Lumberton, NC, formerly of Wallace, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Rivers Edge of Lumberton Assisted Living.

Berta was born August 11, 1951, in Dillon, SC. She was a daughter of the late George Allen and Mollie Jane Hunt Clark. Berta worked as a hairdresser and as a caregiver at an assisted living facility. She attended Pee Dee Chapel. Berta enjoyed fishing, as well as eating fish. Berta also enjoyed her work as a hairdresser. Most of all, Berta enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Berta was preceded in death by her daughters, Teresa Oxendine and Emily Hall; a grandson, Brandon Oxendine; a sister, Lula Jane Hunt; a brother, Franklin Hunt.

Berta is survived by her daughters, Brenda Oxendine Roscoe (Prentiss) of Palm Coast, FL and Julie Oxendine of Bennettsville; brothers, George Allen Clark, Jr of Marion and James Allen Clark of Pinehurst, NC; sisters, Mary Frances Locklear of Clio and Ruthie Ammons (Bob) of Pembroke, NC; grandchildren, Tim Oxendine (Ricki), Brandy Oxendine, Tyler J. Crowley, Brittany Caulder, Courtney Smith, and Natalie Caulder; eleven great grandchildren; special nieces, Pamela Smith of Maxton, NC and Barbara Oxendine of Clio; special son-in-law Kel Hall of Bennettsville; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service in Pee Dee Chapel Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel.
