Bertha Bedard Obituary
Bertha H. (Beausoleil) Bedard, 88, of Chepachet, passed away July 30, 2025 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert Bedard. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Viola (Hoar) Beausoleil.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel Darling, and his wife Robin, of Woonsocket, Scott Darling, and his wife Susan, of Manville; four grandchildren, Samantha Darling Plasse, and her husband Christian, Kerri Darling, and her partner Troyak Alarie, Kyle Darling, and his wife Lauren, and Colby Darling, and his wife Erica; and seven great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Aiden, Mia, Addison, Cameron, Arlo and Austin. She was predeceased by her sisters, Pauline Foisy and Elizabeth Paqet and her great-grandson, Wyatt Plasse.
Bertha worked as an administrative assistant for Miller Electric in Woonsocket. She previously worked as a receptionist for the former Nasson Institute of Woonsocket. Bertha was a kind and considerate grandma. She loved having her grandchildren over. In her earlier days you could find Bertha suntanning at the lake house. She enjoyed going on vacation with her family. Bertha always had a dad joke or something witty to say. She would host parties at her house, she even held outings for young people with disabilities. She loved going to the casino and slot machines. Bertha enjoyed playing cards with friends; she even got a perfect hand in cribbage.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 beginning with visitation at 4:00PM followed by a service at 5:30PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Health & Hospice Care of Nursing Placement, 334 East Avenue, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
