Leo Paul Bedard
Joseph PL Bedard
Joseph P.L. (Leo Paul) Bedard, 92, of Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh, on his birthday Friday, October 10, 2025 at Plattsburgh Rehabilitation and Nursing. He was born on October 10, 1933 , the son of Emile and Elsie Bedard. He was born in Champlain, NY.
Leo married Virginia Mae King, on August 28th 1958. They celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary before Virginia died on October 2018.
They had four children, Chris, Jim and Christensen from Dothan Al. Michael and Deanna Bedard from Concord NC. Ann and Carl Smith from Morrisonville, NY.
1 deceased son Leo Joseph Nedard died, September 1997.
Grandkids: Tracy, Christensen, Jimmy, Pierye Bedard. Shannon Minig, Matt Smith, Lucas Smith. Great Grandkid Alyssa, Seth, Jacob, Tyler, Cody, Logan, Ahva, Syrus and many nieces and nephews.
One brother deceased Adrian Bedard. Two sisters, Cecile and Harry Denton, Linda and Terry Guilbo.
Brother and Sister in-laws, Ellsworth and Judy King, Wanda and Ken (deceased) Rascoe, Leonard and Sue King.
Although Leo did not graduate from High School, he always celebrated with the Alumni class of 1954 from Chazy Central School.
Leo was also dedicated Member of the Knights of Columbus post 6067 and was a 4th Degree Member.
Leo retired from Church oil Company, where he worked for almost 30yrs. as a fuel delivery driver. After his retirement he drove a mail delivery truck service for 8yrs., which he truly loved. Leo then became a caregiver to his wife Virginia.
Leo was also known as Joseph Bedard, since that was on his original birth certificate. He actually liked the name Joseph.
Leo was really into his birthday’s, made sure to tell many my birthday is 10/10. So, with Leo passing on his birthday and pretty sure he would have loved it.
Calling hours will be held on October 16, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday October 17, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville, burial will be in follow in the parish cemetery.
