Bertha Luque, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 16, 2025. She was born in Lima, Peru, the daughter of Alberto Luque and Justa Castro. Bertha radiated warmth, generosity, and compassion to everyone who knew her, and made Maywood, New Jersey her home for many years.

Bertha is survived by her beloved children: Maritza Alvarez and her husband Willy Alvarez, Bertha Fiorentini and her husband Walter Fiorentini, Gustavo Chavez, Marleni Chavez-Luque, and Enrique Espinoza and his wife Maritza Espinoza. She found her greatest joys in her grandchildren-Diego Alvarez, Gabriela Alvarez, Cynthia Fiorentini and her husband Sergio Garcia Olaechea, Alessandra Fiorentini, Raul Sebastian Velarde and his wife Dalilah Velarde, Andrea Velarde, Walter Enrique Espinoza and his wife Carla Rayego, Leitz Caballero, and Bruno Espinoza-as well as her great-grandchildren, Esteban Garcia, Gala Espinoza, and Pablo Espinoza.

Bertha enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved watching soap operas, savoring delicious Peruvian food, and enjoying a glass of wine now and then. She was a talented crocheter who created beautiful scarves that she gifted lovingly to her family and close friends, leaving behind memories woven with affection that will be cherished forever. She always helped those in need and was deeply generous, sharing her kindness with others without expecting anything in return.

Although Bertha has now reunited in eternal rest with her siblings Alberto Luque, Carlos Luque, Roberto Luque, Salomon Luque, Teresa Arroyo, Jaime Zambrano, and Miguel Zambrano, she will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Juana Zambrano.

Bertha's legacy is one of kindness, perseverance, generosity, and deep love for her family. She will be remembered and missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Monday October 20, 2025 10:30 am at Di Chiara funeral home for a 11:00am Chapel Service.
