Bertha Lee JOHNSON

Bertha Lee Ervin Walker Johnson, 72, of Champion, OH, departed this life October 25, 2025 in Los Angeles, CA.

She was born January 17, 1953 in Indianola, Miss., the daughter of George and Harriet Ervin.

She was a 1971 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School.

Bertha moved to Los Angeles in 1979 working as a teacher's aide and substitute. She later returned to Warren and remained a permanent resident. She stressed to her sons the importance of education; both graduated from Youngstown State University.

Bertha was a member of Progressive Baptist Church. She enjoyed dancing. She loved her family dearly (1 brother and 5 sisters); loved visiting and talking with family members and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Michael LaMar Walker of Los Angeles, CA and Wayne DeShawn Johnson Magee of Boston, MA; one granddaughter, Loriale Claudette Ware of Warren; one brother, George (Tina) Ervin of Warren; three sisters, Sheria Ervin and Lillie Ervin Tiggett both of Warren and Gloria Ervin of Marrietta, GA and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her dad and mom, George and Harriet Ervin; three sisters, Bobbie Williams, Elise Ervin and Carolyn Ervin; two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 14, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Chapel, with Calling Hours from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
