BOARDMAN — J. Thomas Caputo passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at the age of 64.
He was born Jan. 21, 1961, in Youngstown, a son of the late John J. Caputo and Mary Gail Stimmer Caputo.
Tom was a 1979 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and attended Youngstown State University. For 17 years, he was the owner of Total Cleaning Services.
Tom was deeply passionate about coaching. He took great joy in coaching his son’s teams, spanning from Little League baseball to youth basketball, and he continued to coach them through grade school and high school basketball. His love for basketball was most evident during his time as a coach at Cardinal Mooney, his alma mater, where he took pride in enhancing the abilities of his players.
Family was central to Tom’s life. He cherished his two sons and was proud of their accomplishments. The highlight of his life was undoubtedly his grandsons, and taking care of Caden softened his demeanor.
