She worked most of her life as Manager of Raynor's Super Market. After retirement, she continued to devote her time as a volunteer at the LMH Gift Shop, which she greatly enjoyed.
In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her siblings, Lora Louise Cannon, Millard Foy Jenkins, Emmett "Twig" Jenkins Jr., and William "Bill" Jenkins.
Bertha is survived by her daughters, Jeanette Pittman and husband Steve, Wanda Degennaro and partner Lonnie Craddock and Kathy Thigpen and husband Mike; grandchildren, Rhonda Burkett and husband Andy, Sean Pittman, Corey Thigpen, and great-grandchildren Kole and Kade Burkett. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was especially grateful to Brenda and Johnnie Warlick and Kim VanNorman for their years of love and care.
Bertha found joy in time spent with her family, and especially loved her trips to Atlantic City, where she never passed up a slot machine and a cigarette. She will be remembered as a one-of-a-kind, wonderful woman who touched many lives.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
