Bertha Katheryn Miller was born May 27, 1926 in Annandale, Minnesota to Rhinehardt and Ethel (Driver) Maurer. Bertha grew up in Fairhaven and attended country school. On July 22, 1942 she was united in marriage to Robert G. Miller in South Haven. They made their home on a farm outside of Montrose following their marriage. They moved near Annandale where they had a hobby farm. Bertha took on the role of a farmer's wife and performed many tasks along side Robert, and together they raised their five children. Shortly after Robert's death in 1979, Bertha moved into Annandale. She was a member of Heartland Evangelical Free Church and remained a devoted Christian all her life. She found peace in prayer and was always praying for others. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning, tending to her flowers, watching over her grandchildren, and CB Radio.
Bertha is survived by her children, Ramona (Ralph) Uecker of Stockbridge, GA, Robert "Sonny" Miller of Annandale, Ethelyn "Toots" (Carl) Uecker of Bloomington, and Pamela Gustafson of Annandale; 11 grandchildren, Ralph, Lucinda, Brian, Lynn, Keith, Craig, Jennifer, Jimmy, Anthony, Michelle, and Elijah; 23 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Mildred Fredrick of Kimball, Rudy (Marion) Maurer of Fairhaven, George (Pat) Maurer of South Haven, Eva Alama of French Lake, Laura (Tom) Wittrock of St. Cloud, and Jerry Maurer of Fairhaven.
