Bertha was my manager at Duke Health Supplemental Staffing. She very kind and caring person, everyone loved her. She made you feel like you were a part of her family, and she will be forever missed.

Derek and Michelle, I'm not sure if I'm still in shock or not! I KNOW I'm heartbroken, just like the rest of the Beamer family! She was the most important "Bonus Beamer" there has ever been! I remember Mom and Dad each excitingly telling me about their wonderful new neighbor almost 30 years ago. She quickly became "Cousin Bertha" to all of us! Through the years as she and Mom and Dad drew closer every day, she watched my girls grow up as well as Steve's girls and my brother Richard's children as well. A visit to see Mom and Dad wasn't complete until we got a hug and a (although sometimes too quick) visit from her! Because of your mom, our mom got to travel to the other side of the world! She loved that trip and helping your mom do one of the things she did best! She was always so happy, positive and up! Since we lost Dad almost 4 years ago, the role she played for Mom evolved and their friendship grew even stronger. I dread the next time I go see Mom, knowing our sweet Bertha won't be there. Please know you all are in the thoughts and prayers of all of us and we are keeping you close to our heart as you mourn the loss of your oh so special mom! ~ann, jamie, caroline, ellie, hayley and carly
