Bertrand Phillip Thompson

Bertrand Phillip Thompson, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at his residence in Lockney, Texas. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Bertrand was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on April 1, 1964, to Bertrand Phillip and Inez Thompson, Sr. He graduated from Gulfport High School in 1993. On September 24, 2020, he married Donna Cackly in Plainview, Texas. He worked at the Lubbock Detention Center for several years.

Bertrand liked to spend his time watching television and hanging out at the Three Rivers, where he met his wife.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bertrand Phillip and Inez Thompson, Sr., and one brother, Steven Thompson.

Bertrand is survived by his wife, Donna Thompson of Lockney, Texas; one sister, Mamie Bond (John) of Saucier, Mississippi; nephew, John Henry Bond and niece, Amy Bond, both of Saucier, Mississippi; and many other nephews, nieces, and cousins.
