Beryl O. Sebastien, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on October 10, 2023. Celebrated for her kind heart and devotion to her family, Beryl leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be treasured.
A funeral service for Beryl O. Sebastien will take place on Monday, October 16, 2023, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Family and friends will gather to pay their respects from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 1:00 p.m. by Norma Hargroder. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the service.
Born on November 18, 1932, Beryl had a genuine love for those around her. She was a woman of many talents and interests, but it was her unwavering commitment to her loved ones that truly defined her. Beryl's family held a special place in her heart, and she adored spending time with them, particularly her grandchildren who brought joy and laughter into her life.
Beryl's green thumb was legendary among those who knew her. She took great pleasure in tending to her flowers and garden.
Beryl made an impact in her community through her involvement in various initiatives. Her dedicated service on the committee that established the V.A. Memorial in Opelousas, Louisiana showcased her deep-rooted patriotism and desire to honor those who had sacrificed for their country.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Beryl O. Sebastien, we take solace in knowing that she has left an indelible mark on the lives of those she touched. She is survived by her sons, Keith Sebastien and his wife, Judy, of Plaisance and Toby Sebastien of Opelousas; her daughters, Sheila S. Nelson and her husband, Max, of Opelousas, Charlotte S. Miller and her husband, Kenneth, of Carencro and Faith S. Rickert of Mandeville. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Sebastien; her sons, Danny and Charles Sebastien; her parents, Lawrence and Louise Ortego; her grandson, Myles Sebastien; and her great-grandson, Greyson Myles Sebastien.
Rest peacefully, dear Beryl, knowing that your legacy will forever shine brightly in the lives of those you leave behind.
