Mariah Sebastien, born, September 8, 1970, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. She fought her cancer until the very end, always holding out hope she would beat it, she was 54 years old. Mariah was born in Seattle, Washington and resided in Washington most of her life with a few years in California. Mariah was the proud mother of two children, Atticus Sebastien, 19 yrs, and Tallula Sebastien, 16 yrs old. Mariah lived for her two children and everything she did in this life was for them.
Mariah had a love for traveling and her love started with her first trip in high school to Russia. She was bitten by the travel bug and shared her love for travel with her children. They traveled to Europe together as well as many vacation spots in the States.
Mariah graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelors in Organizational Psychology. She had an illustrious career in the banking industry as a Loan Officer for over thirty years. She was the top loan processor every year and won countless awards. If there was a contest Mariah always finished first and won the best prizes. The family joke was she also had a knack for winning call-in contests and won prizes from concert tickets to fuel cards.
Mariah loved the sunshine, sand and surf. One of her favorite vacation spots was the beaches of California. Mariah was always ready to offer creative solutions, researching and problem solving, issues for friends and acquaintances. Her co-workers described her as positive, solution oriented and supportive. She was an avid skier when she was younger and was a ski instructor at Stevens Pass for many years. She enjoyed rollerblading and loved to dance the night away.
Mariah is survived by her two children, Atticus and Tallula Sebastien, Robert Sebastien and Laura Elliott. She is also survived by her brother, Brandon Brock, her sister-in-law Tina Brock and her niece Mariella, and nephew Taylor. Her cousin Terry, and her children Taylor, Lauren and Jordan. And longtime friend Tracy Bumgarner and husband Shane Kleven, and their children Fenn and Darbe Kleven. Sadly, her mother, Marilynn Brock, passed away two days after Mariah. There will be a joint memorial honoring them both on June 21, 2025.
