Beryl Sylvia Greasley Rose passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026. She was born on June 15, 1935 in Grenada, West Indies, to Malcolm and Sylvia Greasley. Beryl was a cherished, beautiful soul whose kindness, love, and strength touched the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know her.

In addition to her parents, Beryl is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Eric, her brother Carlyle, and her sisters Hermione and Jocelyn. She is survived by her children Marcia, David, and Carlyle, son-in-law Edwin, daughters-in-law Cheryl and Sandra, grandchildren Nicole, Jonathan, Andrew, Sammy, Carla, Olivia, and Ella, granddaughter-in-law Alyssa, great-grandchildren Aiden, Jaxon, and Jalyn, sisters Marion and Evlyn, niece Karen, and nephews Cecil, Geoffrey, Richard, and Malcolm.

A woman of strong Christian faith, Beryl trusted God in all seasons of her life. She was an active member of St. George's Anglican Church in Grenada and a member of the Mother's Union. Later when she emigrated to the United States she continued her service at Church of Good Shepherd Fort Lee, Christ Church Hackensack, and St. Matthew's Church Paramus as a member of the altar guild.

Her 20 year career as a Senior Public Servant for the Government of Grenada ended when Beryl emigrated to the United States in 1978 with her husband and their three children. She made the most of her new life in the United States; she started a brand new career at Prentice Hall Publishing Company where she worked as a Customer Service Manager for 15 years.

She had a passion for politics, reading, and sports, going so far as to learn the rules of multiple sports. She was an avid fan of college and professional basketball and football, always rooting for her New York Giants.

For Beryl, family was everything. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was known for her quiet strength, kindness and unwavering commitment to her family. She celebrated, cheered and supported every achievement and milestone, and loved sending greeting cards just to let you know she was thinking of you.

Even as her health conditions worsened later in her life, she embraced every challenge with strength and grace. Beryl will be remembered as a leader, a mentor, a survivor, a friend, and the Matriarch of our family.

Sleep in eternal peace, dear Mum. You will be forever in our hearts.

Family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Church Service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Paramus, NJ. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.

Funeral service for Beryl Rose will be live streamed from St Matthew's Episcopal Church Saturday, January 31 @ 10:00 am

Our mother and father went to St. Matthews for many years, and they met Beryl Rose there. St. Matthews is a very caring community, and our parents were a part of that, at the time. As our parents got older, we often attended the service with them. The "coffee hour" after the service, was an opportunity for us to get to know everyone. Our parents always spoke fondly of Beryl, and we could see the many ways this was true. She was kind and warm, always friendly and caring. She had a beautiful grace about her. On behalf of Jonny and Bob Parker, we (their children) are sorry to hear of her passing, and send heartfelt condolences to all of her family.

Dear Family,
I was so blessed to meet your beloved blessed MUM several years ago through the cancer support community.
I was teaching the Tuesday 10 AM stress management and well being class that Beryl attended regularly. In fact she was my prized pupil - one might say the teacher´s pet
We would speak often and she shared many confidences. She was a great teacher of mine. Beryl was the most special- she loved learning & studying- she truly practiced her breathing and sound healing and meditation. She loved receiving the music to practice. We spoke about scriptures and prayer and faith, and she loves saying that she learned and was learning to be a warrior and not a warrior
Beryl cared so much about her family.
She was filled with gratitude as she spoke about her devoted loving caring beautiful family-Her daughter and son-in-law and sons and daughter-in-law`s grandchildren and great grands were her pride and joys!
Beryl epitomized grace strength brilliance beauty compassion and a zest for life and learning and study
She´s truly an angel on earth and she will be in my heart forever. I miss her so much and today was our first class since Beryl`s passing and she was so loved and she was so missed, but we felt her spirit with us and it will always stay with us. Her words of guidance and pearls of wisdom will stay in my mind forever. She was a gift beyond all gifts
