Born March 9, 1929 in Huntingdon, she was the son of the late Charles and Irene (Mida) Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Harklerode, Sr.; and siblings, Charles Campbell, Jr. and Filo Campbell.
Bessie is survived by her son, Charles Harklerode, Jr. and wife Chris, of Lewistown; her sister, Pearl Taylor, of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Lt. Allison Conforte and husband Anthony, of Okinawa, Japan, and Erin Harklerode, of Fort Worth, TX; and great-grandchildren, Andrew and Alexander Conforte.
She was a member of Yeagertown United Methodist Church.
Earlier in life, Bessie was employed at Arrow Shirt Factory, Sears & Roebuck, and later owned and operated Boring's Plumbing and Heating alongside her husband.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Details of a public celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown PA 17044.
