Bessie Steenman Obituary

Bessie Lucile Steenman
November 11, 1930 - July 24, 2024
Bessie Lucile Steenman, 93, passed away peacefully in her home on July 24, 2024. Born in Pecos, Texas on November 11, 1930, she was a fervent Christian. She earned a nursing degree from Hardin-Simmons University in1952. She worked in San Angelo, Texas and later moved to Colorado where she married Larry Steenman in 1964. She went on to raise their two sons while being active in her church communities. She was a long-time member of San Antonio Day Aglow, an organization she dearly loved. She and Larry participated in River Gardens parent and family group for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter G and Annie Lee Burkholder, her brother Lee Burkholder, and her beloved husband Larry Steenman. She is survived by sons Daryl and Brian, daughter-in-law Barbara and her much loved grandchildren Ashe and Wheatley.
We miss Bessie Lu tremendously but recognize that she is now enjoying time with her heavenly family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity.
The family is holding a private celebration of life.
