Beth Cheek Obituary
Visitation with the family will be from 6-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2022, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Father John Valdez as celebrant.
Beth was born August 20, 1954, in Newport News, VA to Bobby Ray and Sarah Cheek. While her father was serving in the Army, Beth was introduced to different cultures while living in Tokyo, Ethiopia, and Germany. The family lived for a while in Havre de Grace, MD before settling in Amarillo, TX.
She earned her master's degree and then began her 49-year nursing career. Twenty-nine of those years she worked at the VA in Amarillo. She also served as a nun with the Sisters of Bon Secours. Beth was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. In her spare time, Beth played the flute.
Survivors include her brother, Robert Cheek and wife Bonnie, of Madison, NH; and two nieces, Sarah Elizabeth and Emma Jean Cheek.
