James Jackie Brown, 65, of Amarillo, TX passed away October 19, 2025.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM, Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 24, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Jackie was born October 4, 1960 in Borger, TX. He graduated from high school in Pampa where he was a bullrider. After high school, he went on and received a welding degree and worked in the oil field. After that, he became an electrician and worked for several electric companies. On July 1, 1982, Jackie welcomed his first daughter, Brittney Moore and in October of 1985, he welcomed his second daughter, Felicia (Nikki) Brown. He then went on to marry his beautiful and loving wife, Vickie McKay McGinnis in Stinnett, TX.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Joann Berner and stepfather, Ralph Berner; father, Jimmy Brown and stepmother, Mae Brown as well as Kathy Emert, and Gerald and Dolores McKay.
Jackie is survived by his wife Vickie Brown of Amarillo, TX; daughters, Nikki Jordan and husband Brad of Amarillo, TX and Britney Moore and family of New Deal, TX; stepson, Shalako McGinnis and wife Stephanie of Midland, MI; grandchildren, Kinley, Kylee and Kaylee Jordan all of Amarillo, TX, and Landon and Liam McGinnis of Midland, MI; great-granddaughter, Oaklynn Faith Blackwell of Amarillo, TX; brothers, Ronnie Kenyon and Jimmy Brown; sisters, Kim Parker and Christina McDonald; father figure to Brandin Langford; and several nieces and nephews.
