Beth Cobaugh Obituary

Beth Ann Cobaugh, born on February 18, 1943, in Merkel, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 9, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She fought a courageous battle with Parkinson's, showing strength and grace through every step of her journey.
After her husband, Jim, died at the young age of 36, Beth returned to Knob Noster, Missouri, where she completed her college degree at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. She went on to earn her specialist degree and dedicated more than 20 years to serving as a second-grade teacher and librarian at Knob Noster Elementary School. Beth poured her heart into her students and community, and her commitment was recognized when she was proudly awarded Woman of Achievement in 1994 and Teacher of the Year 2006-2007.
Beth was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her children were her life, and she adored them all. She was incredibly independent, strong, faithful, and hilarious-traits that defined her and endeared her to everyone who knew her.
She is leaving behind her beloved daughters, Kim Warrender and Wendy Leiker, as well as her son-in-law, Rick Leiker. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Amanda McPherson, Amber McPherson, Camryn Leiker, and Brooke Leiker; and her great-grandchildren, Haylee Moses, Trenton Moses, Amari McMurray, and Damoni McMurray. She is also survived by her brother Jimmy Doan, sister-in-law Joann Doan, brother Alan Doan, sister-in-law Margaret Doan, and sister Frances Hardy and brother-in-law Royce Hardy.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church in Knob Noster, Missouri, at 1:00 p.m. on February 12, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 3:00 p.m. (location still to be determined). Donations may be made to First Christian Church or the The Parkinson's Foundation.

Thinking of Beth´s brothers, Jimmy and Alan, and her sister, Frances, who is still my dearest friend. Sending love and hear-felt sympathy. Beckie

I am so deeply sorry for the loss of this lovely woman. I had the pleasure of knowing Beth and some of her sweet family in her later years, and I am not surprised by all she accomplished in her life. She adored her family, and it was easy to see how deeply she was loved in return. Their support for her was unwavering.

Beth was kind, loving, impressively stubborn, and very funny. I remember telling her how much I admired her positive attitude while living with Parkinson´s disease. With her trademark humor, she replied, "Well, you can either laugh or cry about it, and nobody wants to see my ugly cry."

She was one of a kind and will be dearly missed.
