E. Leon Eidson, 85, of Windsor, Missouri, died Tuesday afternoon, February 10, 2026, at the Warrensburg Veterans Home, Warrensburg, Mo.

He was born December 17, 1940, in Lebanon, Mo., the son of Roy Lee Eidson and Ferba Fern (Warren) Eidson. On September 21, 1963, in Windsor, Mo., he married Linda Darlene Rogers and she survives of the home.

Leon graduated from Windsor High School in 1959. He worked at Kroger in Windsor for several years and then served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he earned a business degree at Central Missouri State University (now UCM) and served as the Henry County Treasurer/Collector for 24 years, retiring in 1997. During retirement, he and Linda enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 United States and several countries. They made many friends in their Winter home in Donna, Texas where they attended First Baptist Church in Weslaco.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Windsor, the American Legion, DAV, and VFW. He was active in many organizations including Jaycees, Odd Fellows, Lions Club, Clinton Optimist Club, and a lifelong Mason and member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners. He was a woodworker and kept a small herd of cattle for a short time. He enjoyed mowing and keeping his property neat.

In addition to his wife Linda, survivors include 2 children, Lynn R. Eidson, Fairview, Texas; a daughter, LeAnne Nichols (Robert), Windsor, Mo.; 3 grandchildren, Joshua R. Nichols (Mae), Sedalia, Mo., Andrew T. Nichols (Josie), Warrensburg, Mo., and Callie N. Nichols, Windsor, Mo.; 2 great-grandsons, Eli and Isaac; a sister, Karen Weno (Robert), Independence, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Eidson, Overland Park, Kansas; an aunt, Fern Skinner, Camdenton, Mo.; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Maurice and Wilma Rogers; 3 brothers, Thomas R. Eidson, Donald L. Eidson, and Roy Lee Eidson Jr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Ada May and Herb Seaton; and a brother-in-law, Donald M. Rogers.

Graveside memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, with Pastor Mike Brown officiating. The family suggests contributions to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
