Berry Funeral Home & CrematoryMrs. Martha Elizabeth “Beth” Partain Moore, 93, of Nickville Road, Dewy Rose, wife of the late George Orin “Boose” Moore, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at her granddaughter’s home in the Fortsonia Community. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and her closest friends.
Mrs. Moore was born in Elberton on September 23, 1931, the eldest child of the late Robert Asbury Partain and Mary Frances Burdette Partain. She was retired from Elberton Manufacturing Company. Beth was an active member of Deep Creek Baptist Church, and enjoyed participating in the church’s widow group and nursing home ministry. She was also active the AWANA program and Vacation Bible School. Beth loved working in her flower gardens, feeding the birds, and shopping. She enjoyed her time spent with friends at the Elbert County Senior Center, especially when it was time to play BINGO.
Affectionately known as “Grandmama,” she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Larry Burden of Dewy Rose; grandchildren and their spouses: Delon and Randy Smith of Elberton, Doug and Wanda Slay of Bowman, and Kyle and Terri Burden of Bowersville; great-grandchildren: Maribeth Ruby Smith and Slayter Lee Smith; brother, Robert Walton Partain of Nuberg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Marshall Slay; brother, Horace William Partain; and sisters-in-law: Sara Partain and Frances Partain.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends on Sunday, September 14, from 2:00-2:45p.m at Berry Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Tim Adams and the Rev. Brendon Crowe, will follow at 3:00p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Harmony Baptist Church cemetery.
