Beth Newton Obituary

Beth Newton

1959 - 2024

Beth Newton, 65, of Lincoln, departed this world peacefully on Monday, October 21st. Born in 1959, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Bill and Nadine Langan, Beth spent her life spreading warmth and laughter to the people she met.

Beth was the proud mother of four and a loving grandmother to twelve. Known for her goofy sense of humor and knack for planning family gatherings with enough food to feed the entire neighborhood, she knew how to bring the fun. Beth had a propensity for taking in less-than-ideal dogs, proving time and again that no pup was too naughty or toothless.

Her career as an RN gave her the opportunity to touch countless lives, and she approached her work with compassion and dedication. Whether offering comfort to patients or lending a listening ear to her co-workers, Beth found purpose in helping others, and this extended far beyond her profession.

Beth found solace in the beauty of God's nature. She was an avid gardener who took pride in her blooms and found joy in the birds that frequented her backyard. She often spoke of the colors and flowers she was confident she'd see once home with God.

Beth is survived by her husband David; her children Jessie (Eric), Drew (Cassie), Wes (Anne), and Katie; her twelve beloved grandchildren Autumn, Noah, Luke, James, Ben, Michael, Elsie, Sam, Lydia, Josie, Gemma, and Henry; sisters Jamie and Jody (Brian), her brother Scott, and sister-in-law Karen; and many other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Nadine, her brothers Tim and Patrick, and her faithful companions, several quirky dogs she adored to the very end.

Beth's spirit will live on in her family, her flowers, and every gathering where there's just a little too much food. Rest peacefully, Bethwe'll keep your garden growing.

A Celebration of Beth's Life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 10 a.m. (Rosary) and 10:30 (Funeral Mass) at St. John's Catholic Church, 7601 Vine Street, Lincoln, NE 68505. Lunch will follow.
