Beth Alexander Roaseau, 97, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025. She was born October 4, 1927, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Vera McBride Alexander and Vernon Alexander and grew up in Walker, Arkansas. A gifted student, Beth graduated from high school at the age of 16 and went on to attend Central Arkansas Teachers College for two years. In 1947, she married the love of her life, Wade Roaseau, and together they shared 52 wonderful years. Their life together began in St. Louis, Missouri, while Wade finished pharmacy school. They later lived in Poplar Bluff before settling in Salem, Missouri, where they made their home for more than 40 years. While living in Salem she was active in the community serving on the Park Board, Library Board and Arts Board. In her later years, Beth resided in Columbia, Missouri. Once her children were in school, Beth returned to her own education, attending Southern Illinois University and Drury University to attain her teaching certificate before earning her master's degree from the University of Missouri. She enjoyed 14 years of teaching third grade at William H. Lynch Elementary School. Beth will be lovingly remembered for her adventurous spirit and her many passions, including traveling, playing bridge, reading, and most especially, cherishing time with her family. Her faith was important to her and she was active in the church. She was known for her sweet nature and her beautiful smile, which brought joy to all who knew her. She is survived by her children: Lawrence Roaseau (Linda) of Key Largo, Florida; Mark Roaseau of Columbia, Missouri; Sanci Canella (Jim) of Frederick, Maryland; and Stacy Drane (Ed) of Columbia, Missouri. She also leaves behind her brother, Sam Alexander of Griffin, Georgia; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. The family is deeply grateful for the loving care Beth received while residing at Lenoir Woods. A celebration of Beth's life will be held on her birthday, October 4, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Lenoir Woods Nifong Hall in Columbia, Missouri. Charitable donations may be given to the Salem Public Library.

So sorry of your loss. Beth was the sweetest lady. She was always smiling! I always looked for her smiling face at the reunions.

My sympathies to all at this time. Although I was only around her a few times at some of the Shoffner reunions, I could feel the joy she radiated to everone in the room. What an example of one using their God-given talents to bring such joy and happiness to this world. I know she'll be well received by those gone before!
