Mrs. Bethanie D. Johansen, of Cleveland, TN, passed away at her residence following an extended illness. She was sixty-five years of age.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Fike Chapel with Pastors Raymond Allbright and Russell Coffee officiating. Following the service Mrs. Johansen will be placed in the mausoleum with her husband at Hilcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with Doug Breedlove, Alex Kubba, Charlie Stringer, Victor Odom, Trever Porter, and David Porter serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearer will be Mikel Ingram.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johansen was born July 10, 1958, in Cleveland, TN to the late Billy D. and Lucille Dunn Porter. Mrs. Johansen was a graduate of Bradley High School in 1976. She later attended Cleveland State Community College where she graduated with her associate degree in nursing as a Registered Nurse. Mrs. Johansen was a Charter Member of Fairview Baptist Church and later started attending First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Bethanie worked for several hospice companies in and around the Bradley County area with Hospice of Chattanooga and Avalon Hospice. Bethanie also served as President of Woodmen of the World Insurance. The last thing she wanted was to see all her children and grandchildren saved and baptized before she passed. She got to see this happen first on Mother’s Day of this year and the last one was saved and baptized the last Sunday that she was able to attend Church.
Mrs. Johansen was preceded in death by her parents, Billy D Porter and Lucille Dunn Porter; her husband Daniel Johansen who passed on May 14, 2020, her brother, David Franklin Porter who passed in October 2011 and A special cousin, Debbie Beckner, Knoxville, TN.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tia Ray, Cleveland, TN and Keisha Johansen, Cleveland, TN; two grandchildren, Caleb, and Jenna Crisp, both of Cleveland, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Directing the services will be Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Fike Chapel.
