Mary Ruth Crye
August 3, 1931 – February 14, 2026
Mary Ruth Crye, age 94, born on August 3, 1931, in Engelwood, Tennessee. She passed away peacefully on February 14,2026.
Ruth was a devoted wife to her husband, Thomas Elmer Crye, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. She dedicated many years of service as a seamstress at American Uniform, where her skill, diligence, and attention to detail were evident in every stitch.
A faithful member of Eastside Church of Christ, Ruth’s life reflected her deep commitment to her faith. She was known for her quiet strength, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for those around her. She stitched love into every quilt she made, transforming simple threads into heirlooms of warmth, beauty, and lasting comfort for all who were blessed to receive them.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings: Curtis Jack, Rena White, Dorothy Daughtery, and Ellen Hunt. She is survived and remembered by her loving sister Etoile Carter.
Ruth leaves behind a cherished legacy through her daughter, Kathy Carson (Eddie); her grandchildren, Andrew Carson (Allison) and Natalie McCracken (Taylor); and her treasured great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Wade, Trace, and Iris McCracken, and Cory and Molly Carson. Her family was her greatest joy, and she delighted in every gathering, every story, and every moment spent together.
Ruth’s life was a testament to devotion — to her family, her faith, and her work. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who loved her.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 18th, 2026 from 5 to 7 PM at Poole Funeral Home, 3000 Ralph Buckner Blvd; Cleveland. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel Thursday, February 19th, 2026 at 10 AM with Minister Jeff Archey and Minister Bill Maynard officiating. Internment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
