Bettie Ann Hobock-Hamblin, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, made her final journey on November 26, 2025, at the Quail Ridge Assisted Living Center in Bartlett, Tennessee. She was born on June 17, 1938, Atwood, Tennessee, to Vernon and Marie Mimms McNeely, who have preceded her in death, alongside her first husband of over 53 years, William Gene Hobock, Sr., and her son, Freddie Dycus.

Bettie, a woman of unwavering faith and conviction, dedicated her life to her family and her Lord. A proud graduate of cosmetology school, she spent many years working for Con Agra Foods as a forklift driver, embodying diligence and determination in every task. However, it was outside, in the comforting embrace of nature, that Bettie truly found her happy place. With a fervent love for her yard and garden, she nurtured her surroundings, sharing not only her green thumb but also her warmth and kindness with everyone she encountered.

A cherished member of Crosspointe Baptist Church in Millington, Bettie was known for her strong Christian values. Anyone fortunate enough to know her could attest to her faith; she was frequently found in church whenever the doors were open, always seeking to deepen her connection with God. This devotion extended beyond her spiritual life, as family was Bettie’s greatest pride and joy. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild with all her heart, considering them her most significant accomplishment.

Bettie’s life was enriched by her husband of over 10 years, William Hamblin, who shared her laughter and love. She is survived by her sons, William Gene Hobock, Jr. (Nicolle) and Ronnie Dycus; her daughter, Cindy Ann Munoz (Memo); her step-sons Steve Hamblin (Maria) and Shawn Hamblin (Brandi); her brothers Thomas and Jerry McNeely; her sisters Peggy Blankenship, Shirley Tucker, and Jo Caroline Kimmons; her best friends Sarah Snow and Cindy Galloway; her four grandchildren: Brittney, Zach, McKenna and Kerrigan; and her one great-grandchild: Kylie.

The legacy of love Bettie has left behind will continue to flourish through her family, whose memories of her will endure. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, her genuine spirit, her cherished collection of tea pots, and her role as a steadfast friend and mentor.

A visitation will be held at Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, Tennessee, on December 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM. Bettie will be laid to rest at Brownsville Memorial Gardens at 2:15 PM.

As we gather to honor the life of Bettie Ann Hobock-Hamblin, we celebrate a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many. Her enduring spirit and generous heart will always be remembered, and she will be missed more than words can express.

Serving as pallbearers are Steve Hamblin, Connor Hamblin, William Hobock, Ronald Hobock, Memo Munoz and Steven Smith.  Honorary Pallbearers are Shawn Hamblin and George Lylle.
