Betty Jean Adams, 88, a lifelong resident of Cumming passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025. Born November 12,1937 to Emory Monroe and Pauline Holtzclaw Payne, Betty Jean was a tough, strong and fierce woman, She enjoyed watching game shows, the Atlanta Braves and playing cards with her sisters. Betty Jean retired from WalMart after 14 years, working the Fabric Department and was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Dennis and Wanda Adams, Debbie and Terry Cranford, Donnie and Lynn Adams, Doyle and Melissa Adams and Darlene and Tim Callahan; grandchildren, Wendy Elkins, Audrey Gravitt, Heidi Cranford, Jordan Adams, Hunter Adams, Jacob Adams, Chase Adams, Brittany Day, Zack Adams and Samantha Adams; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Kathy Payne; a brother, Larry Payne and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 7, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Akins and Rev. Nathan Hester officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
